Fairyland's Son New Yorker Starts In Key Maiden For Ballydoyle

NEW YORKER (No Nay Never) was a withdrawal from his intended debut at The Curragh last week, but now lines up in the maiden that Aidan O'Brien used for past stars Caravaggio and Blackbeard. A son of the Cheveley Park Stakes heroine Fairyland (Kodiac) from the family of the multiple Group 1 winner Dream Ahead, he faces six peers on what could be a first step towards Royal Ascot.

HINDER (GB) (Expert Eye {GB}) is a big runner for Ger Lyons as a half-sister to Kodiac's Phoenix Stakes heroine Babouche and triple Group scorer Zarinsk who gave so much for the stable in recent times. Juddmonte's homebred has needed more time than that pair and consequently has ended up in a weaker affair for her debut than would have been the case last year.

AMRUM (GB) (Frankel {GB}) is another Juddmonte homebred with great import for Ger Lyons as a half-brother to his Irish 2,000 Guineas hero Siskin (First Defence), who preceded the aforementioned Babouche in also capturing the Phoenix Stakes for the stable. He will have to be smart to make a winning debut against rivals with experience headed by Tony Bloom and Ian McAleavy's County Carlow (Ire) (Saxon Warrior {Jpn}), a full-brother to last year's G3 Hackwood Stakes winner Rage Of Bamby who was second here last month.
